First Law

Tue, May 22, 2001; by Inge Johannessen.

First Law of Bicycling:

No matter which way you ride it's uphill and against the wind.

(N/A in the Netherlands, Belgium and French Flandern except for the wind part)

On a recent Bank holiday weekend, we had two days cycling uphill wind in the face, and one day downhill with wind behind. I am optimistic that for our longer tours, the ratio of good:bad 1:2 will hold, and not the ration 1-good-day-in-whole-trip :-)

Best of luck on your trip.

Second law would be

If it's flat and there's no wind it will be raining.

Best of luck, I'll check back often.
